What is a boom truck (Hiab truck)?
A boom truck is a flatbed truck with its own hydraulic crane. People in the UAE often call it a Hiab truck, after a well-known make of truck crane, or a lorry loader. Because the crane travels with the load, one vehicle does the delivery and the lifting: no separate crane, and no waiting for a second machine to arrive on site.
You will see the same machine advertised as a Hiab truck, a Hiab crane truck, a boom truck crane, a lorry loader or a truck-mounted crane — and, because ours carries a 7 tonne crane, as a 7 ton Hiab. They all mean a truck with a hydraulic crane behind the cab.

Boom truck or mobile crane: which do I need?
A 7 ton boom truck suits deliveries and lighter lifts where carrying the load and lifting it in one trip saves time. For heavier lifts, longer reach or steel erection, a mobile crane is the right machine: we rent 25, 50, 70, 80 and 100 tonne cranes with certified operators; see mobile crane rental in Abu Dhabi. To place loads at height on site without a crane, a telehandler with 12 m, 14 m or 17 m reach may be enough.
Do you deliver boom trucks outside Abu Dhabi?
Yes. The truck is dispatched from Mussafah, so Mussafah, ICAD and KIZAD are often same day.
