How much does Scissor Lift rental cost in Abu Dhabi?
Rates depend on the Scissor Lift size, rental duration and whether operator support and delivery are required. Call +971 2 886 9999 or request a quote for same-day Abu Dhabi pricing.
Are electric scissor lifts suitable for indoor use?
Yes — electric scissor lifts are quiet and emission-free, making them ideal for indoor, warehouse and finished-floor environments.
What working heights are available?
We rent JLG scissor lifts with working heights from 8 to 18 metres: electric models from 8 to 12 metres and diesel models from 12 to 18 metres. Tell us your height and floor conditions and we’ll advise.
What is a scissor lift?
A scissor lift is a mobile work platform that rises straight up on a folding, criss-cross support. It lifts people, tools and materials vertically to a stable, enclosed platform, which makes it suited to ceiling work, MEP installation, painting, fit-out, warehousing and maintenance at height.
Scissor lift specifications
We rent JLG electric and diesel scissor lifts, dispatched from our yard in Mussafah.
| Type | Make | Working height | Platform capacity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Electric | JLG | 8 – 12 m | 227 – 450 lbs |
| Diesel | JLG | 12 – 18 m | 227 – 500 lbs |
Our scissor lifts feature dynamic braking, removable ladders and manual descent cables.
Scissor lift or boom lift?
A scissor lift goes straight up and gives a large platform for people and materials, which suits work directly above the machine. If you need to reach up and over obstacles, or out to a facade, a boom lift is the better choice; see boom lift rental in Abu Dhabi.
Where we deliver scissor lifts in Abu Dhabi
Scissor lifts are delivered from Mussafah across the emirate, including Mussafah, ICAD, KIZAD, Khalifa City, Mohamed Bin Zayed City, Al Shamkha, Al Wathba, Baniyas, Al Ain, Madinat Zayed, Ruwais and Liwa. We also rent scissor lifts in Dubai and Sharjah.
Do scissor lifts come with an operator?
Operator familiarisation is available on request, and certified operators can be supplied if you prefer not to run the lift yourself.
Can I rent a scissor lift for one day?
Yes. Scissor lifts are available on daily, weekly and monthly terms.
Send us the job and the dates — we confirm the machine before it leaves the yard.
What working height scissor lift do I need?
Measure to the work, not to the floor you will stand on. Working height is the platform height plus roughly two metres of reach for a person standing on it, so a machine quoted at 12 metres working height puts the platform at about 10. Check two other things before you choose: the width of the doorway or gate the machine has to pass through, and whether the floor or ground will carry it. We rent JLG scissor lifts from 8 to 18 metres.
Electric or diesel scissor lift?
Electric for indoor work — no exhaust, quieter, and kinder to finished floors, which matters on fit-out and MEP jobs. Diesel for outdoor ground that is uneven or unmade, where an electric machine designed for slabs will struggle. If the job runs inside and out, tell us and we will advise which single machine covers both.

What drives scissor lift rental cost in Abu Dhabi
There is no single answer, and any supplier quoting one before knowing your site is guessing. Scissor Lifts hire in Abu Dhabi is priced on five things, and understanding them is usually worth more than a headline day rate, because the headline rate is rarely what you end up paying.
Platform height and terrain is the biggest single factor
Electric scissor lifts for indoor slab work and rough-terrain diesel machines are separate rate brackets. Specify what you will actually need rather than the average: under-specifying costs more in the end, because a second mobilisation wipes out any saving on the rate.
Hire duration changes the rate structure, not just the total
Daily hire carries the highest rate per day and suits one-off jobs and emergency cover. Weekly is usually where the per-day cost drops noticeably. Monthly gives the lowest effective rate, and is what most UAE contractors use for a machine that stays on site. If a job runs beyond a week, a monthly hire is often cheaper in total than accumulated daily rates, even if the machine goes back early. Ask for both structures before deciding.
Machine-only or operated hire
You can hire the machine alone if you have a certified operator holding a valid UAE licence for that class. If you do not, operated hire includes a trained operator and is charged separately from the machine. For short hires operated is usually the practical choice, because a machine on site with nobody cleared to run it is an expensive paperweight.
Delivery and mobilisation
Transport is quoted by distance and by whether the machine needs a low-bed. From our Mussafah yard, Mussafah, ICAD and KIZAD are short mobilisations; Abu Dhabi city and the islands are moderate; Al Ain, Dubai and the northern emirates are scheduled long-distance movements, quoted up front. Always ask for delivery and collection in the quote for Abu Dhabi, because a rate that looks competitive without the return leg is not competitive.
Site access and compliance
Restricted-access sites, and anything needing CICPA passes for ADNOC-controlled areas, add clearance time. That is not usually a rate increase, but it does affect lead time, and lead time affects whether you end up paying for standby.
What a complete quote should include
- Machine specification and capacity
- Hire period and rate structure: daily, weekly or monthly
- Whether the rate is machine-only or operated
- Delivery and collection charges, both stated
- Fuel arrangement: who supplies it, and how it is reconciled
- Third-party inspection (TPI) certificate validity
- Insurance and damage-waiver terms
If a quote is missing any of these it is not comparable to one that includes them. Most disputes about rental cost come from items that were never quoted, not from the day rate itself. We quote per job rather than publishing a fixed rate card, because a small machine for two days and a large operated hire for a month are not the same commercial proposition. Send us the specification, site and dates and we'll give you a firm itemised figure, usually the same day.
Delivering scissor lifts across Abu Dhabi
Our yard sits in Mussafah M-2, which puts most Abu Dhabi sites 25–45 minutes from dispatch — Abu Dhabi island via the Sheikh Zayed or Maqta bridges, and mainland districts like Mohammed Bin Zayed City, Khalifa City, Al Shamkha and Al Wathba on a direct run down the E30/E22. For scissor lifts that need low-bed transport we plan the route in advance and handle escort or municipality coordination where an abnormal-load move requires it.
Abu Dhabi work ranges from island high-rise and hotel refurbishments to road, drainage and utilities packages on the mainland. Tell us the plot or project name when you enquire — knowing whether the machine is heading to a tower podium downtown or an open infrastructure corridor changes the attachment, operator and transport we assign.
- 25–45 min typical delivery from Mussafah to most Abu Dhabi sites
- Route planning and permit coordination for oversized/low-bed moves
- Night and weekend mobilisation for road-closure and crane work
- CICPA and ADNOC site documentation support for restricted zones

How fast can you deliver scissor lifts to a site in Abu Dhabi?
Most Abu Dhabi deliveries run 25–45 minutes from our Mussafah yard once the machine is released. Same-day delivery is normal for confirmed orders placed before mid-afternoon; oversized loads that need permits or escorts are usually scheduled for the following morning.
